Osimhen Scores Four Goals in First Pre-Season Friendly

Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen scores four goals as Napoli thrashed local side Bassa Anaunia 12- 0 in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Victor Osimhen has hit the ground running under new Napoli manager Lucciano Spalleti as the Nigerian striker scored four goals in his side’s first pre-season friendly at the weekend.

Osimhen, who scored 10 goals for Napoli last season despite battling with injury and coronavirus hits the back of the net four times in first pre-season friendly.

Napoli who narrowly missed out on Champions League football for the 2021/22 season annihilated Anaunia 12-0 in their first pre-season game at Di Mario as the preparations for next season entered full gear.

Elfis Elmas put Napoli ahead on four minutes then Osimhen conjured a sublime dink over the goalkeeper to double Napoli’s lead four minutes later.

Kosta Manolas then nodded home Matteo Politano’s corner in the 15th minute. Osimhen then scored Napoli’s fourth and his second of the game with a shot from the edge of the box in the 20th minute.

Osimhen then got his hat-trick and Napoli’s fifth in the 35th minute before scoring his fourth two minutes later.

Nigerian striker Osimhen then ran wild with four individual goals, joining with a Kostas Manolas header and Stanislav Lobotka strike to end the first half 7-0.

The second half resumed with the former Roma coach made wholesale changes to his lineup, but Osimhen has already shown what he is capable of to the new gaffer.

The entire outfield 10 changed after the restart, but the goals continued to flow, with Gennaro Tutino, Amato Ciciretti, Zinedine Machach and Andrea Petagna finding the net.

However, Petagna missed several huge opportunities before scoring with the last kick of the game, a tap-in.

Machach and Karim Zedadka also rattled the woodwork during the second half.

The team was again still wearing the same kit as last season, because the new self-produced jerseys have not yet arrived.
