Abba Kyari begins operation in Markurdi to hunt Ortom’s attackers along with a special investigative team. The team have been instructed to arrest those in connection to the attack. Recently, there was an attempt to assassinate Governor Samuel Ortom.
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has activated a special taskforce to carry on this operation. To this effect, the IGP assigned super cop Abba Kyari to Benue state in order to investigate the attempted murder and arrest those involved to justice.
On Sunday, March 28 Frank Mba (Force Public Relations Officer) disclosed this operation consists of operatives from the Tactical Investigation Units of the Force Intelligence Bureau(FIB).
Abba Kyari Begins Operation with other officers deployed to begin operation are crack detectives with specialized competencies in crime scene investigation and reconstruction, ballistics, fingerprint analysis and other areas of forensics.

The team assigned to hunt the attackers of Ortom is expected to ensure that all persons empirically linked to the incident are apprehended and bought to book. They are also expected to investigate all angles of the reported attack.
The special forces are instructed to take over and consolidate all on-going investigations into the incident, this team headed by Abba Kyari. However, the Security adviser to Ortom, Paul Hemba confirmed the arrest of some suspects.
Hemba stated the police team found the suspects close to the scene of the attack and are being investigated.
Meanwhile, the Pan Yoruba socio-cultural and political organisation, Afenifere has lent its voice in sympathy with the Benue governor over the weekend attack on him.
