According to the Nollywood actor Jim Iyke, who is now 44 years reveals that ” I withdrew from politics to avoid selling or compromising my soul.

Jim Iyke, who joined the Young Democratic Party when he began his political career in 2014, made this known during an interview with BBC Igbo on Friday.

The actor said Nigerian politics is a dirty game characterized by violence, rigging, bribery, corruption, and other manipulations perpetrated by politicians. And it was one of the reasons why I dumps politics.

He said: “I tried doing politics but what I was required to compromise was almost like selling your soul. I’m principled.

Jim Iyke further mention that another reason why I dumps politics, is that I don’t want to be used as a puppet in the hands of any godfather, fearing that the game could consume him in the long run.

However, I do not want to be desperate or have a godfather that use me around like a puppet. I don’t want to stain myself, the Nollywood star added.
