Seyi Shay Humiliates a Contestant on Nigeria Idol. Nigerians drags Seyi Shay on Twitter after humiliating a contestant on Nigerian Idol with TikTok handle,@therealtorrus. Nigerian Idol is a music reality show in its 6th edition. On 14th March, 2021 the audition started featuring Seyi Shay, Dj Sose and Obi Asika as judges.

Music show auditions in Nigerian are always hilarious. Having contestants from 36 states. However, the judges are being trained to respond professionally and kindly.

During this audition, a 17-year-old young man was being auditioned and was given a mean response from the popular Nigeria musician Seyi Shey, she said:

Somebody lied to you. Somebody told you to come here and audition. You should go back and tell them that they aren’t your friend because that was not a good audition. You have a sweet-talking voice and it comes out in your singing voice but your performance is terrible,

She also added:

You are never going to make money being a singer. I love you, you are so sweet but you are not a singer. You are not a singer. For songwriting, hit me up, we could talk but that singing, it is not going to work. Sorry, Darling.

This response led to several responses from people on social media condemning her insensitivity and rudeness thereby humiliating this young contestant.

Most Nigerians feel she should have encourage him and give him hope of being better rather than humilating him

“Seyi Shay should not have said that the boy would never make it in music. She should have encouraged him to continue working on his vocal training and return for another audition.” Taye said
