Dr. Solomon Nidiamaka, who was kidnapped on Monday July 19 in Kogi State<\/a> have been released by Gunmen. The Kidnapped Doctor Regains Freedom at late hours of Tuesday July 20.<\/p>\n

\nThe News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nidiamaka, of General Hospital, Ugwolawo in Ofu Local Government Area of the state, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen around 8:30 am. from the premises of the hospital.<\/p>\n

In a statement jointly issued by Chairman and Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state, Omakoji Oyiguh and Famotele Tolorunju on Wednesday, the association confirmed that Nidiamaka was released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Gunmen have released a medical practitioner, Solomon Nidiamaka, who was kidnapped on Monday in Kogi State.<\/p>\n

Recall that Nidiamaka, who works at the General Hospital, Ugwolawo in Ofu<\/a> Local Government Area of Kogi state<\/a>, was whisked away by gunmen from the premises of the hospital.<\/p>\n

In a statement jointly issued by Chairman and Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state, Omakoji Oyiguh and Famotele Tolorunju on Wednesday, the association confirmed that Nidiamaka was released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that the victim is currently undergoing medical observation after his release. It is still unclear if any ransom was paid to secure the release of the kidnapped doctor.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) appreciates the government of Kogi<\/a>, security agencies, Chairman of Ofu<\/a> Local Government Council, vigilantes and Hunters\u2019 Association who all responded to the distress call and all those who called to show solidarity.<\/p>\n

We wish to inform the Federal Government<\/a> that the kidnappers told our kidnapped colleague that they were in the business of kidnapping to be able to feed,” the association said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It called on the federal government<\/a> to continue to priorities youth employment in order to de-escalate kidnapping, which had become a national malaise, leading to disruption in healthcare delivery, including brain drain.<\/p>\n
