The Inflation has yet fallen again as the economy steadily improves. The country\u2019s inflation rate dropped further from 17.93% as recorded in the May to 17.75% in the month of June 2021.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/daviral.ng\/topic\/nigeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nigeria\u2019s<\/a> Inflation rate drops for the third straight month. 17.75% in June, 17.93% in May of 2021 from 18.12% in April, amid a slight slowdown in prices of food &amp; non-alcoholic beverages &amp; tobacco (22.28% vs 22.72% in April) and despite a recent currency devaluation.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the annual core inflation, which excludes the prices of volatile agricultural produce hit 13.15% in May, the highest since April of 2017.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Incase You Miss; \u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/daviral.ng\/news\/unknown-gunmen-killed-nigerian-army-general\/\" rel=\"bookmark noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Unknown Gunmen Killed Nigerian Army General<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The report stated that food inflation stood at 21.83% in June 2021 compared to 22.28% in May 2021 while core inflation which excludes the prices of volatile agricultural produce dropped from 13.15% recorded in May 2021 to 13.09% in the review period.<\/p>\n<p>The report further disclosed that The urban inflation rate increased by 18.35 percent (year-on-year) in June 2021 from 18.51 percent recorded in May 2021, while the rural inflation rate increased by 17.16 percent in June 2021 from 17.36 percent in May 2021.<br \/>\nThe composite food index rose by 21.83 percent in June 2021 compared to 22.28 percent in May 2021.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Also Read<\/strong>; <a href=\"https:\/\/daviral.ng\/news\/efcc-launches-eagle-eye-app-to-ease-financial-crimes\/\" rel=\"bookmark noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EFCC launches \u2018Eagle Eye\u2019 App to ease financial crimes<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>For states, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/bauchi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bauchi<\/a> stood at 18.97%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/rivers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rivers<\/a> at 18.92% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/abuja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abuja<\/a> at 17.09%. The 3 states recorded the slowest rise in year on year inflation.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2021, food inflation on a year on year basis was highest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/kogi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kogi <\/a>(30.34%), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/enugu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enugu <\/a>(25.18%) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/kwara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kwara<\/a> (24.78%)<\/p>\n<p>On month-on-month basis, food inflation(June 2021) was highest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/jigawa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jigawa<\/a> at 2.67%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/edo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edo<\/a> at 2.43% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/cross-river\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cross River<\/a> at 2.16% while Lagos(0.14%), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/borno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Borno<\/a> (0.06%) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booknaija.ng\/city\/kwara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kwara<\/a> (0.02% recorded the slowest rise in food inflation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Kindly share and Leave a <a href=\"#respond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comment<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria\u2019s Inflation rate drops to 17.7% in June.
