Major General Hassan Ahmed of the Nigerian<\/a> Army has been killed by unknown gunmen. He was the former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army. Major General Hassan was murdered on Thursday night in Abaji<\/a> area. This unknown gunmen attacked him when he was returning to Abuja<\/a> from Lokoja<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A source close to the family said the couple were coming from Okene. Also, an informant said;<\/p>\n

They opened fire on his vehicle, he died. The driver pretended to be dead from the wound he sustained, so they took the sister away,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An information further gathered that General Ahmed was exposed during the incident as he didn\u2019t move with an escort . Rather the deceased was chauffeured by his driver, Sergeant Bukar in a Toyota Hilux with a private plate number. The unknown gunmen killed the Nigerian Army General. His body is now at the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Hospital in Abuja<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya recently appointed Hassan Ahmed a Director at the Army Headquarters in Abuja<\/a>. This information has been confirmed from Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations;<\/p>\n

FORMER ARMY PROVOST MARSHAL PASSES ON<\/p>\n

With a heavy heart, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army regret to announce the passing on of Maj Gen Hassan Ahmed, a former Provost Marshall of the Nigerian Army.<\/p>\n

The sad incident occurred when the senior officer\u2019s vehicle was attacked by gunmen while transiting along Lokoja \u2013 Abuja road yesterday 15 July 2021.
\nA delegation from the Army Headquarters led by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) Maj Gen Anthony Omozoje has visited the widow and other members of the bereaved family. Members of the Nigerian Army Officers\u2019 Wives Association (NAOWA) led by the Deputy National President, Mrs Stella Omozoje have also visited the family to condole with them.<\/p>\n

The remains of the deceased senior officer will be accorded a befitting burial at the Lungi Barracks Cemetery on Thursday 16 July 2021 by 10. 00 am.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
